Central Utah Water Internship



The Central Utah Water Conservancy District (District) is seeking construction management, civil engineering, or related majors for an internship position at its Orem office. The District constructs, operates, and maintains significant water infrastructure including dams, tunnels, pipelines, storage tanks, wells, and water treatment plants which are used to deliver both treated and raw water to Utah residents. This internship involves a variety of tasks: review and gaining familiarity with project manuals including contracts, general conditions, technical specifications and drawings, field observation of construction activities, report writing, review of construction documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, etc., interaction with general contractor, materials testing agencies, general public, and District Staff, attendance at construction progress meetings, schedule review, pay estimate review and other duties as assigned. The District is looking for applicants who have prior construction experience and related coursework. It is anticipated that this position will require approximately 12-20 hours per week through the ’19-’20 academic year. The District may extend the position into the summer 2020 depending on District needs at the time.
