BRIAN BARTON AND MICHAEL HAWLEY
Brian Barton, PE
Brian is President and CEO of Jones & DeMille Engineering. Brian’s leadership has enabled J&DE to build an amazing team, develop lasting client relationships, and establish eight office locations throughout the Intermountain Region. Brian brings over 17 years of project design engineering and project leadership experience. He has strong relationships throughout rural Utah and adjacent states and is widely known for his ability to find ways to bring important projects to fruition. His expertise lies in developing feasible funding packages for all types of critical infrastructure and public works projects. Brian serves on the national American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Transportation Committee and is Vice Chair of the Utah ACEC legislative committee. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Utah State University Civil & Environmental Engineering Department and the Utah State Health Core Standards Review Committee. Brian received his BS in Civil Engineering and MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Utah State University.
Michael Hawley, PE
Michael is a principal owner of Jones & DeMille Engineering and currently serves as the Northeast Region Director, based out of Roosevelt, Utah. He previously worked for UDOT Region 4 as well as another consulting firm where his duties included roadway design, storm water infrastructure, and design and construction inspection services for various UDOT/local government projects. Michael joined the Jones & DeMille team in 2008 and has since managed many special district, county, city, and privately sponsored projects. Michael has significant transportation experience including mapping, roadway geometric design, pavement design, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design, culvert design and other aspects of infrastructure projects. Mike is known for his ability to successfully manage large projects and develop lasting relationships. He has managed over 40 transportation projects over the past 4 years ranging in scope from large roadway construction projects to planning and maintenance projects. Michael is an avid cyclist and mountain biker, competing at elite levels in Utah and surrounding states. He currently serves on the Utah State University Uintah Basin Advisory Council. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University.
